Year 11 students at Ely College, part of Meridian Trust, gather today to celebrate yet another year of impressive GCSE and vocational results.
Simon Warburton, Principal of Ely College, said: “Congratulations to the Year 11 students picking up their results today. Over the past five years, this cohort of wonderful young adults, have worked incredibly hard to meet and exceed their target grades. They have acted with maturity and independence, impressing both myself, the teaching staff and wider school staff here at Ely College.”
Stand-out achievements include:
Louisa J, who achieved a full sweep of twelve grade 9s.
Shinnosuke M, who achieved eleven grade 9s and one grade 8.
Olivia W, who achieved nine grade 9s and two grade 8s.
Ben C, who achieved seven grade 9s and three grade 8s.
Maya D, who achieved seven grade 9s and two grade 8s.
Clara W, who achieved seven grade 9s and two grade 8s.
We are also very proud of our students who have made huge progress against their target grades. Oscar H, Neve B, Aiden B, Fatima B and Ned B are some of the stand out examples of students who achieved grades well in excess of their targets.
Our students will now progress to preferred destinations for post 16 education with a number of our students remaining with us at Bishop Laney Sixth Form, which is part of Ely College, as well as a range of post 16 centres in Cambridgeshire.
Simon added: “Seeing the students so proud of their achievements today is a reminder of everything they have overcome and accomplished to reach this milestone. Thank you to the continued support of families, carers, staff members and the wider school community, who have helped guide the Year 11 cohort along the way.”
Mark Woods, CEO of Meridian Trust, said: “Today we celebrate the hard work and resilience of the Year 11 students receiving GCSE and vocational results across Meridian Trust. On behalf of everyone at Meridian Trust, congratulations to staff, students and their families on this milestone. We look forward to seeing you continue to flourish in post-16 education, apprenticeships and the many exciting opportunities that lie ahead.”
