The idea is for you to bring geography to life and make it relevant to the current situation. You should attempt to include ideas from what you have studied in geography to now but also look at the suggested readings, videos etc in the bridging project booklet. Finalists will be invited to London for an awards ceremony at a later date with prizes to be won! Download the PDF Year 11 into 12 Geography Bridging Project and have a go! Webinar information from Plymouth Uni:

During this time we want to keep in touch with schools and make sure that students continue to be inspired with their studies and higher education.

With that in mind we would like to roll out a series of webinars, the first being an A Level Geography session focusing on ‘Changing Places’ by Professor Richard Yarwood of the School of Geography, Geology and Environmental Sciences. It will run as a talk with opportunities to ask questions at the end.

Please see below for details:

Changing Places: Rebranding Urban and Rural Areas

This talk focuses on the ‘Changing Places’ theme of the A-level curriculum. It examines the economic changes that have been affected urban and rural places over the past twenty years and, in particular, stresses the importance of re-branding in these transformations. Drawing on case studies, Professor Yarwood examines how urban and rural places are marketing themselves as part of wider regeneration strategies.

This first talk will run on the 20th of May, 1pm-2pm and will be hosted via Zoom.

If you and your students are interested in attending, could all attendees please individually fill out the survey below and we will send attendees further details nearer the time.
