Year 6 Transition

Making the move from primary school to secondary school is an exciting time, with lots of changes to prepare for; a new timetable, new teachers and even new friends. To help students make the move a little easier we will include all of our information on this page.

During the Spring and Summer terms, Mrs Goodey will be working closely with all our feeder primary schools. She will collaborate with the students' current Year 6 teachers and explore the best ways to support the children through the transition process.

After a wonderful few days at College, we look forward to welcoming the 2024 Year 6/ 7 this September. The following dates below have been updated for the 2025 September Year 6/7 transition process.

Key Dates

Primary Roadshows: Monday 9^th September and Thursday 12^th September 2024 6pm – 7pm. Tickets can be booked here (link coming in due course). Please note that you only need to book one ticket per family. Children are welcome at the event, but please be aware the content is aimed at the adults at home. The purpose of this event is to provide information about College life, the induction process and how to apply for a secondary school place.
Main School Opening Evening - Thursday 24^th September 2024 (5:15pm – 7:30pm). Tickets can be booked here (link coming in due course). Please note you only need to book one ticket per family and last admission is at 6:45pm

Offers Day - Monday 3rd March 2025
Family Information Event - Tuesday 10^th June 2025 (5:30pm – 6:30pm). This online event will be accessed via a link below, which will be published in due course.
Meet the House Team Event - Tuesday 15^th and Thursday 19^th June 2025. This will be an in College event. Please note each House will be given a specific time and location to come into College and meet your child House team.
In College Transition Days - Wednesday 9^th and Thursday 10^th July 2025. Each child will attend College for one of these days.
