Year 6 Transition 

Making the move from primary school to secondary school is an exciting time, with lots of changes to prepare for; a new timetable, new teachers and even new friends. To help students make the move a little easier we will include all of our information on this page.

During the Spring and Summer term, Mrs Goodey will be working closely with all our feeder primary schools. She will collaborate with the students' current Year 6 teachers and explore the best ways to support the children through the transition process.

Upcoming events (full details see PDF below / letter home):

  • Meet the House Team Event - This in person meeting will be held on the College site on Tuesday 18th June 2024 (4:30pm - 5:15pm). Each family will be given a specific time when they can come into College and meet their child’s House team. Invites will be sent out closer to the event. Please note each House may have different times and venues:

          Scott House: Needham’s Gym. Please use the layby entrance.
          Etheldreda House: Sport Hall. Please use the layby entrance.
          Seacole House: Needham’s Hall. Please use the layby entrance.
          Turing House: A Block Hall. Please use the main entrance.
          Franklin House: A Block Canteen. Please use the main entrance.

 

  • In College Transition Days - Each child will attend college for one of these days. Children from St Mary’s, St John’s, Littleport Community Primary and all other primaries school will be in College on Wednesday 3rd July  (8:40am – 2:45pm).  Children from The Isle, The Lantern, Downham Feofees and Millfield will be in College on Thursday 4th July  (8:40am – 2:45pm).
