Spotlight on what's coming out of our LRC and English dept, as staff have continued to promote our #YearOfReading with Meridian Trust. We've had some fantastic new initiatives, fun competitions and guest speakers!

- We welcomed back award winning children's author Tia Fisher, who gave a talk and ran a wonderful creative writing workshop. Thank you Tia for your visit!
- Back near Valentines, students could have a "Blind Date with a Book". Inviting students to step out of their reading comfort zones, and branch out to discover new genres and authors, they could take home a mystery book for FREE. This embraced the idea of 'not judging a book by its cover'!
- We also had an amazing turn out to our first-ever Library Lunchtime Open Mic! 11 brave students took to the mic to share their original poems and favourite verses. Lots of students came out to support their friends, and the appreciation was palpable. Ms. Setchfield and Ms. Clark-Hope were thoroughly impressed by the talent, courage, and creativity on display.

Thank you to them and everyone who has enjoyed and supported our #YearOfReading. Remember to #GoAllIn and explore your passions! Your support and enthusiasm made these events truly special. We can't wait to do more, but in the meantime... keep reading for enjoyment.
