Offers to applicants for entry to Bishop Laney Sixth Form for September 2020
We recognise that these unprecedented times might lead you, our prospective students, to be concerned about what this might mean for your place at Bishop Laney Sixth Form next year.
We would like to reassure you that we will continue to honour all offers whether currently held or made in the future and that the performance related conditions (entry requirements) attached to those offers will not change. We recognise that there may be a need for flexibility within this process to ensure that no prospective student is disadvantaged and this will remain our overriding consideration. Our approach is in line with the government’s current position that grades awarded this summer will be indistinguishable from those awarded in other years.
Once you are in receipt of your grades, you will be asked to contact us to discuss your enrolment. Details of the enrolment process will be shared at a later date, once the process of issuing grades becomes clearer.
Our overriding aim has always been to ensure that our prospective and current students are known, valued and supported. Accordingly, when planning their programmes for the first term our subject teams will take account of the time which you will have spent away from school and away from the usual opportunities for revision and consolidation; as well as providing transition work for you to undertake between now and the start of your course. All of these steps will help to minimise the impact of the current disruption. In addition, we will apply the maximum possible flexibility to allowing changes to your study programme during the first few weeks and make available additional advice and guidance for you should you need it.
The transition work from each subject team can be found on our website: Please visit that here. Also please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any other queries or concerns during this time, we are here to help. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org in the first instance. In the meantime, take good care of yourselves and others, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
