The College Uniform

We have tried to make the College uniform both practical and reasonably priced. College sweatshirts and polo shirts can only be purchased directly from the College. The College can also provide trousers and skirts at competitive prices, but these may be purchased elsewhere. All students in Years 7 to 11 are expected to wear the uniform detailed below:

Sweatshirts
The school sweatshirt with school badge is a compulsory item of uniform, red for Years 7-9, black for Years 10 and 11. The sweatshirt may be removed in lessons and in hot weather with staff permission.

Polo Shirts
The polo shirt is a compulsory itemandmust bewhite. If the sweatshirt is removed, students should bewearing a school polo shirtwith the school badge. It is not acceptable for coloured shirts, T-shirts or sweaters to be worn beneath a polo shirt.

Footwear
Footwear is plain black shoe which must always beworn around the College.White footwear is not acceptable under any circumstances other than in a PE lesson. Trainers of any colour are no longer acceptable. This is the wish of the majority of parents.

Trousers
Trousers should be plain black of normal school style. We do not accept tracksuit trousers or military style trousers. Trousers should have at most the normal two side pockets and two back pockets.

Outdoor Coats
Outdoor coats are garments that should be both waterproof and wind proof. Denim tops are not acceptable, nor are light tracksuit tops or hooded tops that are not waterproof.

Hats
Hats may be worn to school in cold weather. They should only be worn outside and not in school. Baseball style hats are not acceptable.

Bags
Students will need a suitablebag for carrying books and other equipment safely and without damage. Back packs with two straps are best.

Jewellery
Jewellery is not permitted. Students who wish to wear a crucifx or a 'Medic-Alert' bracelet should bring a letter from their parents requesting this. Students may wear one pair of plain studs if they have pierced ears. Studs in any other part of the body, e.g. nose, tongue, navel etc. are not permitted for safety reasons.
The College considers anything other than studs to be unsafe in College. In certain subjects, studs will need to be removed for safety reasons.
