General troubleshooting

Running Microsoft Vista/Windows 7?

If you do have Vista or Window 7, you will need to be running as an administrator.
You can do this by right clicking on your desktop and selecting 'Run as Administrator'. If you do not see this, your parents/carers may have set you up an account on the computer which means you are not an administrator. You will need to logged into your computer as your parents/carers. Please ask them to do this for you.
You should then try again - if you still have trouble, start from step 2.

If this is the first time you have used the remote access solution on your computer you may encounter some of the following images.

The Application's digital signature has been verified. Do you want to run the application?
You can click Run on this.
This is asking if you want to run the Java application. You need to allow this otherwise you will not be able to log in.

Application digital signature

This is downloading some of the files needed to run the application.
You need to let this run through.
This may do this now and then, depending on updates made to the remote access server.

Download VPN agent

When it has downloaded all the files it needs, you will see this pop-up in the bottom right of your screen. This is the VPN tunnel program. It is basically a tunnel between your computer and our college network. This allows you to access our internal resources.
