Welcome to Community Education at Ely College

Term dates - 2012-2013

Welcome to Community Education and our new look Web pages. We hope that you will enjoy reading through our wide variety of courses for the Spring term.

We’re passionate about providing everyone in and around Ely with the widest possible range of learning activities, not just because it’s important to do, but also because learning really does enrich people’s lives. Whether they are here to master basic French, try their hand at silver-smithing, or achieve a First Aid qualification, the people that enrol on our courses tell us that their horizons are widened and that they want to come back for more.

Please take a look at our Course information sheets before enrolling on a course which will give you more information on any additional costs or materials you may need. These can be viewed or downloaded here.

When you join a course you can be assured high quality service taught by a well-qualified & enthusiastic tutor. We aim to offer the best possible experience for adult learners in the region and welcome your views on how we can improve our services.

Quality Mark award

Ely College’s Community Education service has been awarded a Quality Mark seal of approval, following a rigorous assessment by Cambridgeshire County Council’s Adult Learning and Skills Service.

The Quality Mark award identifies adult learning centres which consistently achieve high standards in community education.
Angela Spencer, Ely College’s Adult Education Manager commented: ‘I am delighted for my team here, and for all of our tutors, whose hard work has been recognised in this award. There is now such a wide variety of choice in adult education, which means quality is more important than ever. We hope this Quality Mark award shows that, if you enrol on one of our courses, you can expect to have excellent teaching, good value for money, and a great experience all round.’
