Ely Sixth Form - Individual and Pastoral Support
Students need to be well supported if they are to fulfil their potential.We
provide students with a wide-ranging induction programme backed – up
by intensive individual support, including:
Pastoral Support
Students are fully supported by our friendly
and experienced tutor team. Tutors are
always available and set aside the last twenty
minutes of every day to meet with students.
Our Student Advisor is on hand to help
students with most problems they are likely
to face, including health issues, money
matters, legal problems and housing.
Careers Guidance
Careers Guidance is available to all students
throughout their time in the Sixth Form.
We have a specialist Careers Tutor and
Careers Room. Close contact is maintained
with Connexions and advisers are based at
the College.
Work Experience or Community Service is
available to all students, if desired, either on
a regular basis throughout the year or
during a holiday.
University Guidance
The UCAS programme is built into the
College’s calendar and includes on-line
application, Higher Education Conferences,
Open Days, advice on personal statements,
finance, the admissions process and so on.
Mock interviews and advice clinics for
entrance exams are available for those
students who require them.
Individual Support & Monitoring Progress
Students monitor their own progress against national targets.
On a regular basis theymeet with their tutor to discuss progress.
Intensive support is available through the Student Advisor.
Twice a year each student has a formal Progress Review during which teaching
staff, tutors and the Director will discuss progress and provide written
feedback.
