Ely Sixth Form - Enrichment
Education does not end in the classroom,which iswhywe offer a diverse range of enrichment opportunities to all our students.
We reserve Wednesday afternoons for a wide variety of enrichment activities. It is an opportunity to broaden your skills,
try out new activities, compete on behalf of the College or simply unwind.
The programme changes termly but the activities and courses available will include:
Life Skills Courses
first aid,
self-defence, touch typing, car maintenance,
pre-driving theory, beginner’s Spanish,
Community Sports Leaders Award and our
Microsoft Academy.
Sport
A wide range of sports is available including
football, netball,mixed hockey, basketball,
tennis, badminton, volleyball, softball,
archery and aerobics. The College competes
against other Sixth Forms both locally and
nationally in football, basketball and
hockey, and is always keen to expand the
range of sports this competition involves.
Volunteering through
Young Lives
There are a wide variety of volunteering
opportunities available, ranging from
assisting in schools to tackling
environmental problems; from DJing in
a youth club to sports coaching or peer
group mentoring to prevent alcohol or
drug abuse.

and Debating Society.
The 24 Hour Challenge
Enrichment doesn’t stop on a Wednesday,
as a member of the College you will be
challenged to complete at least 24 hours
of college service in year 12. This could
include supporting children in the
Community College, helping specific
departments, organising activities for
children with special needs, assisting with
displays around the college, representing
the College in sporting or academic events,
working on the College’s Radio Station and
so on.
All hours are logged and a certificate
awarded when 24 hours have been
achieved.
International Trips
The College is expanding its range of
international trips but scheduled trips
include: Habitat for Humanity trip to
Zambia, International Exchange to
Romania, Media trip to LA, History and
Politics visit to NewYork and the Travel
and Tourism trip to Disneyland Paris . |
