Key Stage 3 - Years 7 to 9
Resistant Materials and Graphics
Throughout the year, students work on a variety of topics in Resistant Materials and Graphics. The topics in each year are designed to build upon previously learnt skills to enable progression through the levels in the Key Stage.
Year 7
- Jigsaw - Practical skills in plywood and production plans
- Bottle opener - Practical skills in metal and specifications
- Pencil tidy - Practical skills in plastic and research
- Bits and Bobs Box - Practical skills and evaluations
- Juice or Soup carton - Computer Aided Design and paper engineering.
- Graphics. Basic skills for hand drawing
Year 8
- Money box - Designing, practical skills and production plans
- Structures - Knowledge and specifications
- Pencil tidy - Practical skills and research
- Automata - Practical skills, evaluations and production planning
- Graphics - Computer Aided Design. Further skills and hand drawn techniques
Year 9
- Automata - Practical skills, evaluations and production plans
- Structures - Practical skills and knowledge
- Electronics - Practical skills and knowledge
- Book ends - Practical skills and evaluations
- Graphics - Pop up card. Paper engineering. Computer Aided Design
