ICT Department

ICT skills are vital for young people today so we make it a priority, both within ICT classes and also across all academic subjects. Several specialist teachers are supported by high quality facilities, which include a wide range of computer workstations for students to use. Students are also able to connect to the college network from home. In addition, students can use the ICT suites in clubs run after school and during the lunch break. During these times there is always a member of staff to support the pupils' use of ICT. The LRC (Library) also has a suite of computers and a laptop trolley to enable students to work supervised in a quiet environment should they so wish.

ICT is taught in Years 7, 8, and 9 where pupils have dedicated ICT lessons, in which core ICT skills are covered. GCSE options in Years 10 and 11 include may options from the OCR National Level 2 qualifications. Students can also study in our Microsoft Academy for the Microsoft Office Professional certificates. In the sixth form, courses include the OCR National at level 3 for AS/A2-Level.
